Features

Everything inside River One OPD.

A complete clinic management software built for Indian doctors — appointments, patient records, voice-to-text consultations, multilingual prescriptions, pharmacy, billing, WhatsApp automation, and the Android app. All at ₹3 per visit, no subscription.

Appointments & slot management

Smart booking with no double-booking, ever

Each doctor sets their working hours once. The system automatically generates available time slots based on consultation duration — and whenever an appointment is booked, that slot is locked out across every channel. No double booking, whether the appointment came from the receptionist at the desk or from a patient via WhatsApp.

Receptionists see today's schedule as a visual calendar — colour-coded by status (booked, checked-in, completed, no-show, cancelled). Bulk operations handle real-world situations: doctor going on leave for 5 days, Diwali closure, moving the Wednesday afternoon shift to morning. One screen, one update, the entire week rearranges.

The WhatsApp appointment booking flow lets patients book 24/7 without calling the clinic. Front desk workload drops by 30–40% for routine bookings. Receptionist focuses on the patients physically in front of them, not the phone that keeps ringing.

Patient records & history

Full clinical timeline, one tap away

Patients are registered once — name, gender, age, phone, address, acquisition source (walk-in, WhatsApp, referral), and WhatsApp consent. Duplicate mobile number detection warns staff before creating a second record for the same patient, keeping the database clean.

Choose between Quick registration for walk-ins (name, mobile, age — 20 seconds) or Detailed registration for new patients with chronic conditions (full history, allergies, past medications). Voice entry fills name, age, gender, mobile, city, address and blood group from speech.

Every return visit shows the complete clinical timeline — every prescription, lab report, and consultation note, with no "last 5" cut-off. The doctor opens the chart and immediately sees what was tried, what worked, what didn't, before the patient has even sat down.

Records are strictly scoped to your clinic. A patient registered at your clinic is not visible to any other clinic, even on the same platform. The clinic context is enforced server-side on every single query.

Voice-to-text consultations

Speak the findings — the system types them for you

The biggest barrier to clinic software adoption in India isn't price — it's typing. Doctors over 40 who refuse to type have been locked out of EMR for a decade. River One OPD's voice-to-text consultation entry solves this directly.

Press the voice button during a consultation and dictate your findings in English, Hindi, or Marathi. The AI listens, transcribes, and automatically fills the clinical fields — diagnosis, chief complaint, symptoms, vital signs, treatment plan, remarks. It only fills empty fields, so anything you've already typed stays as-is. Dictate once, review once, save.

The transcription uses modern speech recognition (Groq / Google Gemini) that handles medical terminology. Voice recordings are used only to fill the form — they are not stored. Audio is sent to the speech provider for transcription, so sensitive clinical details should only be dictated once an appropriate data processing agreement is in place.

Multilingual prescriptions — English, Hindi, Marathi

Print in the language your patient actually reads

Older patients in Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities don't read English prescriptions. Pharmacist handwriting errors trace back to the same root cause: nobody could read what was written. River One OPD prints prescriptions in English, Hindi, or Marathi — you pick the language per patient at the moment of printing.

Prescriptions record complaints, vital signs, diagnosis, medicines with dose, frequency, duration, and food timing (before/after/with meals), advice, investigations ordered, and the next visit date. All on clinic letterhead, with doctor signature, dated, and ready to print or send to the patient on WhatsApp as a PDF.

Specialty-specific templates pre-fill common drug names and dosages. A diabetologist's template loads with insulin + metformin + glimepiride ready to tick. An ENT doctor's loads with amoxicillin + nasal sprays + antihistamines. 12 specialties supported, each with its own template.

Lab requests & reports

One click orders the panel, PDF comes back to the chart

Pre-loaded diagnostic panels for the most common OPD scenarios — Diabetes workup, Hypertension workup, Thyroid panel, Lipid profile, Routine health check, Fever workup, Pregnancy trimesters, Pre-surgery panel, Jaundice workup, Kidney function, Vitamin deficiency, and more. One click sends the complete panel request.

Individual tests can be added or removed from any panel on the fly. Doctors can save their own custom panels — "Dr. Mehta's standard diabetes workup" with specific tests the doctor always orders. The custom panel is specific to that doctor; it doesn't pollute other doctors' options.

Each lab request carries priority (routine/urgent/stat), notes to the lab, and the patient's clinical context. The PDF request form can be printed, exported, or sent to the patient on WhatsApp. When the lab report comes back, it attaches to the patient's chart — no paper reports filed in a drawer, no reports lost.

Pharmacy dispensing

Dispense against the prescription at the counter

For clinics with an attached pharmacy, River One OPD includes a dispensing module that records which medicines were given against each visit. The dispensing record is linked to the prescription, so the clinical chart and the pharmacy stock stay in sync.

Printable prescription is generated for the patient to take home — the same multilingual format as above (English, Hindi, or Marathi), with medicine, dose, frequency, duration, and food timing clearly laid out.

This closes the loop between consultation and dispensing — the doctor writes the prescription, the pharmacist sees the exact same prescription on their screen, dispenses, and the dispensing record is attached to the visit. No handwriting translation errors, no "I thought you said..." mistakes.

Pay-per-visit billing & prepaid wallet

₹3 per visit, deducted from the clinic wallet

River One OPD doesn't charge monthly. Your clinic maintains a prepaid wallet. When a patient is seen, ₹3 is deducted. That's the entire pricing — see pricing page for the full breakdown.

Separately, your clinic records the doctor's consultation fee — the amount the patient actually pays you. This is pre-filled per doctor, editable per patient, and recorded as paid in daily billing. End of day, the clinic owner opens Daily Billing and sees exactly how much was collected across all doctors, split by payment mode (Cash / UPI / Card) and by doctor.

No-show and cancelled appointments are excluded from the totals automatically. Discounts and partial payments are tracked separately so the owner can see where revenue is leaking.

Smart follow-ups with WhatsApp reminders

Tap 7d, 10d, 15d — the follow-up is scheduled and reminded

During consultation, the doctor doesn't type a date — they tap a quick button: 3d, 7d, 10d, 15d, 1mo, 2mo, 3mo, Custom. The follow-up date is calculated automatically, taking into account the doctor's working days (no follow-up scheduled for Sunday if the clinic is closed Sunday).

If the patient has WhatsApp consent, an automatic reminder goes out 24 hours before the follow-up date — worded as a clinically indicated recall, not a marketing message (NMC Guidelines 2026 compliant). The dashboard shows every follow-up due today, this week, and overdue.

This single feature lifts repeat visit rate from a typical 30–40% to 55–65% for chronic condition patients (diabetes, hypertension, dermatology). It's the clinic's loyalty moat — patients return because the clinic remembers, not because the patient did.

Owner analytics dashboard

The screen the clinic owner opens first every morning

Today's visits. This month's revenue. Patient growth rate. No-show rate by day and time slot. Wallet movement. Top-performing doctors. Peak hour analysis. Patient acquisition source distribution. All in one dashboard tailored for the person who writes the cheques.

Insights are framed with recommendations, not just numbers. "Your 11 AM–1 PM slots are 95% full. Your 3 PM–5 PM slots are 40% full. Consider shifting 2 slots from morning to afternoon." The owner opens this twice a day — before the clinic opens and after it closes.

Super Admins see all clinics on the platform (relevant for chains and franchises). Clinic owners see their own clinic. Receptionists don't see owner analytics at all — role-based access is enforced server-side.

Multi-doctor polyclinic support

One receptionist login, every doctor's calendar

A polyclinic with 5 doctors doesn't need 5 subscriptions. One River One OPD clinic account supports unlimited doctors — add them from the clinic owner panel with name, specialization, consultation fee, and availability. The receptionist sees every doctor's schedule from one login.

Patients book through WhatsApp or at the desk and choose their doctor by name or by specialty. If they're a returning patient, they get the option to continue with their previous doctor — a two-tap booking instead of five taps.

Each doctor has their own consultation template (specialty-aware), their own default fee, their own signature on prescriptions. But they all share the same clinic wallet, the same patient database, the same reports. The clinic owner sees doctor-wise performance; each doctor sees only their own patients.

WhatsApp self-service for patients

Patients book, get prescriptions, pay — all in WhatsApp

Through your clinic's own WhatsApp number (verified via Meta's official WhatsApp Business API), patients can book new appointments, check upcoming visits, manage reminders, request a copy of their prescription or lab report as a PDF, pay their invoice via UPI, and reach the clinic for anything else.

Every automation is operational — not promotional. Confirmations, reminders, document delivery. No review solicitation, no birthday messages, no promotional offers — fully aligned with NMC Guidelines 2026 for ethical patient communication. See the dedicated WhatsApp appointment booking page for the complete flow.

STOP honors opt-out instantly as required by the DPDP Act 2023. Clinical details are delivered as PDF attachments only, never as plain text in chat.

Android app & push alerts

Full clinic on your phone, with real-time notifications

The River One Android app is live on Google Play. Doctors and receptionists get the same features as the web dashboard with a mobile-first layout — top bar, bottom menu (Home, Patients, Appointments, Pharmacy, More), side menu with Logout. Push notifications via Firebase for new appointments, patient arrivals, lab reports arriving, and follow-ups due today.

Patients don't need the app. They interact with the clinic via WhatsApp (which they already have). The app is for the clinic team — doctor sitting in traffic can confirm tomorrow's appointment, receptionist on break can see who checked in, owner from home can glance at today's collections.

Email OTP sign-in means no forgotten passwords locking out the receptionist on a Monday morning. 6-digit code sent to email, expires in 2 minutes, single-use, hash-stored for security.

Specialty templates

12 specialty templates, out of the box.

Each specialty gets its own consultation template, patient fields, report uploads, and prescription layout. Switch specialty and the entire consultation screen reshapes. See what each specialty records.

Security & compliance

Protecting patient data is the default, not an add-on.

River One OPD is designed around India's current regulatory posture — NMC Guidelines 2026, DPDP Act 2023, and the operational security any clinic handling patient data should expect.

Clinic isolation

Patient records are strictly scoped to your clinic. Clinic ID is resolved from the signed-in account, not from the URL — no way to access another clinic's data by manipulating a parameter.

Role-based access

Super Admin, Clinic Owner, and Receptionist each see only what their role permits. Server-side permission check on every request — a hidden button can't be used to bypass.

Granular consent

Per-purpose patient consent (DPDP Act 2023 compliant). Separate consent for operational WhatsApp, reminders, clinical data sharing. Withdrawable instantly via STOP keyword.

Parameterized queries

Every database query uses PDO prepared statements. Output is escaped. SQL injection and cross-site scripting attacks are structurally blocked.

CSRF protection

Every form carries a security token. A page cannot be submitted from another site on the user's behalf. All sensitive actions require re-authentication.

Audit trail

Payments, approvals, billing changes, consent changes — all written to an audit log for later review. Compliance review for NMC or DPDP is straightforward because the records exist.

Common questions

Questions about features.

Straight answers about what the software does and doesn't do.

Can I use River One OPD for a single-doctor clinic?
Yes. River One OPD works equally well for solo practitioners and multi-doctor polyclinics. For a solo clinic, add just one doctor; the receptionist login is optional (the doctor can also act as receptionist). Pricing stays the same — ₹3 per visit, no per-doctor fee.
Does it work offline?
River One OPD is a cloud-based system — it needs internet to work. For Indian OPD practice this is rarely a limitation because WhatsApp booking, prescription PDFs, and the Android app all assume connectivity anyway. If a clinic has unreliable internet, we recommend upgrading the connection before implementing — clinic management software without the cloud is not materially different from paper.
Can I import patient records from my existing software?
Yes. We accept Excel exports from most existing systems (HealthPlix, Practo Ray, MocDoc, Lifemaan, and in-house systems). Our team maps your fields to the River One schema and runs a staged import — review before go-live. Typical migration takes 3–5 business days. Contact us to discuss your current system.
Can prescriptions include my clinic logo and letterhead?
Yes. Upload your clinic logo during setup. Prescriptions, lab requests, and invoices print on your clinic letterhead with your logo, clinic name, address, and clinic phone number. The doctor's personal mobile is never printed — only the clinic number — for privacy.
Is voice-to-text accurate for Indian accents?
Yes. The underlying speech recognition (Groq / Google Gemini) handles Indian English, Hindi, and Marathi — including common Indian accents. Medical terminology (drug names, Latin anatomical terms, Indian brand names) is handled well. You review the transcription before saving, so any error is corrected before it reaches the patient chart.
What happens if the clinic wallet runs out?
You get a low-balance alert when the wallet drops below the minimum. If the wallet hits zero, new patient registrations and follow-up visits are refused until you top up. Same-day repeat visits (which are free anyway) continue to work. The clinic owner records a top-up with its UPI, NEFT, or receipt reference and the balance is credited straight away.
Can I export all my data if I leave?
Yes. You can export your complete patient records, prescriptions, lab reports, invoices, and billing data as CSV + PDF archive anytime, including after cancellation. No lock-in. Your data belongs to your clinic.
Does the Android app support offline access?
The Android app is primarily online — same system as the web. Push notifications work regardless of whether the app is open. If you need offline-first functionality (e.g., for camp outreach), contact us about custom builds.
